A little look back at where the M6 began.
15 years in the making. Our flagship gi, and arguably the piece that tracks closest to Progress’ roots.
The M6 is named after the postcode where it all started, the area of Manchester where our founders, James and Sam, grew up. Back then, they were blue belts searching for a clean, minimalist competition gi they could actually use, so they set out to make one themselves.
In the flatlay you’ll see the full lineage, M6 Mk2 all the way through to the M6 Lite (Mk7). Each one a step on from the last, shaped by the feedback from the athletes and customers wearing them!
You might’ve spotted there’s no Mk1 in the line-up. That’s because the Mk1 was never released. It only ever existed as a prototype, worn and tested by our original Progress athletes before the Mk2 became the first M6 to hit the market. The original Mk1 still hangs up at Progress HQ, a reminder of where it all started.
