Isn’t That A Little Dramatic?
Your data is going to disappear. We don’t know whether that will be in one century or one minute’s time, but being ready is non-negotiable.
Experience has shown that whether you’re running a large commercial operation or a not-for profit micro studio, things go wrong. Yes, modern SSDs without any moving parts are more reliable than their spinning predecessors, but they can still pop without notice. While many breakdowns won’t lose you clients, or trash your reputation, a select few problems (let’s call them what they are) are virtually irreversible. Drive failure or any kind of total data loss can be one of them. I say “can”, because if things are as they need to be, there will be a backup in place.

ARA has reshaped how we approach audio repair inside modern DAWs. Instead of exporting clips to a separate editor and managing versions, you can now work directly on the timeline. This really helps to keep the focus on what you're actually hearing. However, not all ARA plug-ins offer the same depth once you open them. @avidtechnology@avid.protools
