Today, Nasser claimed his sixth Dakar victory, and remarkably with a fourth different manufacturer. For Fabian, it is his first Dakar win, the perfect reward for all the focus, quick thinking and calm judgement. A career-defining achievement. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝘂𝘁. @rbaciuska and @oriolvidal64 have won the @dakarrally Stock Class with @defender . Dakar is the toughest test in motorsport. Two weeks of dunes, rocks, and long days that punish every crew and every component. Finishing is a feat. Winning is extraordinary. After successive podiums in T4 and T3 classes, they can finally call themselves Dakar winners. Huge credit to the entire team, with @sarapricemx and @seanberriman taking a superb second, and @s.peterhansel and @mikametge finishing just off the podium in fourth. The Nürburgring 24 Hours shouldn’t work, but it plays by its own rules. The scale is unmatched. Across a 25.378 km lap and more than 150 corners of the Nordschleife and Grand Prix circuit, one of the most punishing layouts in motorsport, the weather can change from one end to the other, even lap to lap. This weekend, the largest field in more than a decade, 161 cars, a broad mix from manufacturer-backed GT3s to road-derived machines, will share the same track. This is only possible through reworked pit and paddock layouts. Even so, teams must share pit boxes and use handheld fuel pumps to fit everyone in. Now add Max Verstappen making his Nürburgring 24 debut, drawing a wider audience, but he is only part of it. At the front, the field is as stacked as ever, with 49 cars across the top classes, SP9, SP Pro, SP X and AT1, filled with works drivers and Nordschleife specialists. Then come the fans. Campsites fill early, the weekend is sold out for the first time, and the forests around the circuit become a temporary motorsport city. The crowd does not just watch; it becomes the atmosphere, from campfires and packed fan zones to improvised viewing platforms. When it is over, the forest is left as it was found. This is endurance racing at its wildest. A marathon, a festival, a rolling piece of motorsport theatre, where any lap can bring drama. A quick bit of motorsport geography to start this #MotorsportWeekend. @gtworldchaustralia heads to Shell V Power Motorsport Park, commonly known as The Bend, named after the nearby town, Tailem Bend. The town takes its name from the Ngarrindjeri word “thelim”, meaning bend. Hence, the place name effectively reads “Bend Bend”, making it a perfect place to put a motor racing circuit. This weekend, @officialwrc returns to Portugal. @rallyportugal has a habit of testing everyone. The 2001 edition delivered brutal weather and huge attrition, with two-thirds of the field eliminated. Significantly, Richard Burns opened his points tally for the season with fourth place. That year would end with his World Championship title, which turns 25 this year. This weekend is one of the motorsport weekends when you don’t know where to look next. Today we welcomed a group from @thebowrafoundation to Prodrive. They joined us for a full tour, taking in the places where race and rally cars are designed, built and prepared, plus the workshops and specialist areas that make it all happen, from fabrication and wiring, to assembly and our Powertrain Development Centre. Not to mention seeing our Heritage Collection up close and testing themselves in our Racing Simulator. It was a pleasure to open the doors and share what we do, with a group focused on helping former service personnel find purpose through shared experiences and strong friendships. We are still buzzing after yesterday’s Scramble. There can be hustle and bustle, but there’s always time for a proper conversation. It was great to listen in as @danpross86 and @frankelandrew from @theintercooler sat down with Prodrive Chairman David Richards to talk about cars, competition, and the ideas that sit behind a lifetime in motorsport. With the backdrop of David’s World Rally Championship-winning Ford Escort Mk II sat just outside, it was a great start to the day. Elsewhere on site, people could get up close to the Honda BAR 006 Formula 1 car. Two vastly different cars from our Heritage Collection from very different eras, but with the same obsession and attention to detail. Some details are easy to miss. But look closely at the Honda’s rear wing, and you will see each team member’s name printed on the inside. Did you know, Circuit of the Americas deliberately carries a little Silverstone DNA? @cota_official ’s own track guide points out that the quick Esses at turns 3, 4 and 5 are comparable to @silverstonecircuit ’s Maggotts, Becketts and Chapel sequence. These sections at both tracks keep the car fully loaded, so maintaining the rhythm through them and getting the exit right are crucial to maximise speed all the way down the next straight. It’s partly why this weekend is such a satisfying GT racing bill. @british_gt starts the season with the Silverstone 500. There are three mandatory driver changes, but no minimum stint length, which means teams can shape the race in very different ways, and the picture can stay unclear until the final few laps. At COTA, @gtworldchallengeamerica brings its new three-hour race format this weekend, so it is not a quick sprint to the flag. It asks for commitment straight away, the uphill, blind Turn 1 that, with a full grid, can turn braking points into guesses, followed by those Silverstone-inspired Esses, mean the first half a lap could shape the whole weekend for teams. Meanwhile , the @redbullring sees the @dtm.official season get underway as the championship returns in front of one of Europe’s most passionate crowds. If you want your motorsport served with cliffs and volcanic asphalt, then @officialwrc ’s Rally Islas Canarias will be serving an unusually high-grip surface.
