Wildlife illustrator Rohan Dahotre (
@rohandahotre ) creates artworks full of life, colour and texture. Being inspired by nature, Rohan has taken his fascination with the forms, textures and patterns found in the natural world, and built these ideas into his own practice. “I want my work to reflect that versatility”, Rohan shares, “and continue evolving rather than being confined to one style. I enjoy working in detailed, minimal, colorful, heavily textured, or compositionally balanced approaches - much like nature itself.”
Describing their creative process as spontaneous yet structured, Rohan tells us about the benefits of being open and creative while also setting some guidelines: “I draw intuitively, which allows me to explore and experiment freely. At the same time, as a freelancer, structure is essential…I try to maintain a balance between freedom and experimentation in my personal work, and clarity and structure in professional collaborations.”
The Tiger mask, holds particular meaning for Rohan. This artwork depicts both a traditional practice, and a personal reminder of strength. “There’s a tradition of hanging protective masks to ward off negative energy,” Rohan shares “I’ve always been inspired by masks, and after going through a difficult phase in 2025, I felt the need to create one for myself as a personal symbol of protection and strength.”
