Today I had the honor of leading the Process Over Prize Academy competition team into battle at the Newbreed Fredericksburg Open. As a coach, I believe leadership starts by stepping into the fire yourself. I hold myself to the same standards I expect of my students—same preparation, same accountability, same willingness to be tested when it matters. Competition has a way of exposing everything—your preparation, your mindset, your conditioning, and your ability to stay composed under pressure. That’s exactly why we do it. Not for comfort. Not for excuses. For growth. Proud of every athlete who stepped on the mat today and represented our academy, our team, and our culture. Wins were earned, lessons were learned, and character was revealed. Medals fade—but standards, discipline, and the example you set last much longer.
