Little walk through of this field sensing synth project I’m working on. I updated a few things that add some depth to the sensor fusion. Most specifically tuning the thermal sensors data that’s used in the droning oscillator underneath the harmonics of the radar hits. Also the arpeggios update 4 times daily based on the date and time for generative random sequences // - #electronicsengineering #supercollider #arduino #mechatronics #proceduralgeneration

This is a Procedural Synth design based on the idea of sensing the “field” - the topology and conditions of a room. Currently taking temperature and humidity data along with ultrasonic data and funneling them through #supercollider // Sensors used are commonly found in arduino hobby maker kits and include the DHT11, LCD1602, a micro servo and a few buttons and potentiometers. This is running on an Arduino Mega 2650 with Supercollider providing the synth engine and Processing IDE bridging the visual HMI. This is my part in prototyping my idea for a senior project for my Mechatronic degree through @ecpiuniversity . Overall I’m extremely happy with the progress I’ve made in the past three days from conceptual idea to where I’m at now. Any makers out there doing something similar? Have any suggestings for increasing features on this? #electronicsengineering #mechatronics #arduino #proceduralgeneration

Several tests before generating the base that will be sent to the pen plotter. This code has many possibilities—like memories, there is no fixed number. I’ll share some; help me organize them :) #processing #penplotter #generativeart #metatiles #computercraft
My starting point for creating code almost always begins with a question: how can I translate emotions, ideas, and humanistic concepts into mathematical formulas?
Within a collective reflection with other artists, we were invited to think about time. The first word that came to me was memory — perhaps because it is something I engage with daily while accompanying my mother through her experience with dementia.
For the development of this new series, I knew I wanted to work with memory — affective memory — and the ways in which it can be activated. In this process, I began to look at construction leftovers and old tiles found in my family home — objects carrying emotional, familial, and material memories.
This investigation led me to the term rememory, introduced by Toni Morrison in the novel Beloved (1987). More than memory, rememory describes the idea that the past does not disappear: it remains inscribed in places, objects, and surfaces, capable of being revisited and reactivated.
The question then became: how can this idea be translated into code? How can a generative system work with layers of time, traces, repetitions, disruptions, displacements, and reappearances?
Here I present the first tests of this code — an attempt to transform memory into a system, and the system into matter.

Controlling sound with just muscles 💪
EMG -> MIDI -> Ableton Live
Raw EMG signals from the Thalmic Labs Myo translated into sound. The sensor data is collected in Processing and converted to MIDI messages, mapped to oscillator controls in Ableton live.
Experiment from 2015. A year prior I was researching mapping brain wave activity with an EEG headset
Requerimientos:
1. Laptop
2. Processing (lo instalaremos en clase) (@processingorg )
3. Un poema

From the Page to the Interactive Poem
From the Page to the Interactive Poem is a workshop for techno-sensitive writers, verbal
agitators, and seekers of linguistic pleasure who wish to explore the transformation of a poem
into an interactive piece. A space to move from page to interaction, from written language to interactive language.
Through coding and Processing, a Java-based programming environment, we will create small
sensitive systems capable of expanding, manipulating, questioning, and amplifying poetic
writing.
Texts that react to movement, words as sequences, sequences activated and
transformed by the user: natural language placed under a poetic regime to produce cybernetic
metaphors.
This workshop is free as the sun and photosynthesis.
Requirements:
- Laptop
- Processing (we will install it in class)
- A poem
Structure:
5:30–6:00 PM — Review of poems at Lugar Común + Id Art Lab
6:00–6:45 PM — Installation of Processing + vibe coding to transform poems into interactive
machines
