Late 90s Spitfire Andy Roy. I used to love every year when Spifire would run an ad with the team ‘heads’. Usually the renditions were spot on as it is here. If you know me, then you know I’ve been skating for most of my life & had my own wheel company in the past. Shirts like these are special finds for me as much as I love finding all kinds of different things. Skating brought me to here.
Someone really wanted to show off their abs of steel in their Madball shirt. Great art from around the time I first saw them in 93. Stoked on this whole little find. Most of these are super soft & thin, too 🙂
Very impulsive last moment trip to the banks today to skate them with close friends I’ve had for decades. Probably close to 30 years since I did one of these there. As soon as that whiff of Banks urine crawled up my nostrils it was like smelling salts & woke me up in 1995. This space holds such unexplainable magic for skaters of my era worldwide. 2nd slide is some footage from 95 my friend Adam & I shot on 16mm that never made it to Big Brother. Last slide is one of the maybe 2 tricks filmed of me down there. We rarely a camera in the city back then.

Less than two weeks away from @vinylrevolutionrecordshow I’ve been hard at work digging through thirty boxes of 45s. Lots of deadstock soul, funk & disco 45s so far. Plenty of doubles. Beyond that there’s a wide variety of LPs and some rarities saved for this event. Plus the return of the $5 dollar soul & funk, jazz & rock LP bins that were a hit last year. Plus new wave, goth & industrial cds. Expect some nerdy conversations as well. See you there.
