We spent our Tuesday at HMP Woodhill, clipboards in hand, speaking directly with people in prison about National Prison Radio - what they’re listening to, what’s working, and how we can do better 📋
We spoke to 40 people on their prison wings and in their education workshops, hearing about the impact of shows like And Breathe and We Care, which offers support to those with experience of care.

These kinds of interviews go beyond just making good radio with good people. They give our prisoner-producers the chance to build real skills - learning how to interview, shape conversations, and ask the questions people want answered.
They also open up space for new ideas and different ways of thinking, shared right across the prison system through voices people recognise and trust 🤝
