We receive so many kind thank you letters each year from book recipients. Help us continue to send high quality books to incarcerated readers. Thanks to a generous donor, the matching for Prisoners Literature Project’s Giving Tuesday campaign has been upped to $5,500. So every dollar you give, up to $5.5k has its impact doubled, until Friday, Dec. 1st. /donate/

To be of service: offer support to your friends/family/community like “how can I support or assst you”, “how can I show up for you” Volunteer: look up places of interests to offer your time Notice: notice when people may need help such as a neighbor or a friend moving Do small acts of kindness and try not to expect things in return Donate: clothes, books, or food Personally I’ve been volunteering my time by going to Prisoners Literature in Berkeley Share what you do in the comments

Another big book drop arrived just in time. Art books have been flying off the shelf - it's always hard to keep up with demand.  Shoutout @art_resources_transfer for another batch of incredible wide ranging art books for folks behind bars. You guys are the best!! 📚💖🫶 One of the books I'm especially intrigued by is "Assembling A Black Counter Culture," which offers a comprehensive look at the Black American roots of Techno music. - Zephyra @ PLP

New Urban books just dropped… straight into our grateful hands! 🎁📚 A massive thank you to our amazing friends at @hachetteus —and especially to Sara and the rest of the Right to Read team—for the donation. Urban aka Street Lit is one of our most popular genre requests and we are always struggling to keep the section stocked. Kia DuPree is a former assistant editor at St. Martins Press, and received the Fiction Honor Book Award from the Black Caucus of the American Library Association for her debut novel. Her work provides unflinching looks at intergenerational trauma and the psychological toll of violence, advocating for healing and accountability.
