In construction, this has been on our radar for a long time. If a newly formed majority government means real action, this is a step in the right direction.
Last week’s Spring Economic Update committed $6B to closing the skilled trades gap, with support for apprentices and the employers who train them. It is practical, targeted, and focused where it matters.
Now it comes down to execution. Solving the labour shortage is critical to the future of our industry, our economy, and the projects that move both forward.
