As some of you may know, I've been volunteering at @printfactorybellefonte since it first opened in late 2024. The volunteer-run, nonprofit bookstore offers a safe and inclusive community space in central PA, where such spaces can be scarce. Since we opened, we've sold diverse and radical books old and new, hosted poets and musicians, supported local protests, fostered a vibrant writing group, supported our local queer community, set up a mutual aid station for anyone in need, and much more.
I've since joined the Board of Directors and we've been working to secure the future of this space. We operate entirely on donations and volunteers, but we see an incredible long-term future ahead. In a country increasingly driven by profits and greed, The Print Factory is a much-needed breath of fresh air.
