Principles Of Joy es actualmente el grupo de soul más candente de Europa. Provienen
de los famosos estudios de Q-Sounds Recording, el único y exclusivo sello francés de
música soul desde 2009.
P.O.J comenzó en 2017. Es una mezcla de miembros originales del equipo de músicos
de Q-Sounds y de nuevos integrantes. Están liderados por Ludo Bors, teclista y
flautista del sello, además de compositor y miembro fundador del mismo. Con la
cantante de soul Rachel Yarabou al frente, la banda interpreta un soul profundo e
intenso que combina medios tiempos sureños con temas de Northern Soul. Sus
composiciones están escritas y compuestas por el dúo Ludovic Bors/Christelle
Amoussou.
La discografía de Principles Of Joy consta de un sencillo de 7 pulgadas (2018) y dos
álbumes (2019; 2022). Estos trabajos han sido incluidos en programas de radio
importantes como el Carl Craig Funk & Soul Show de la BBC6, Radio Krimi, FIP (red
nacional francesa) y muchos otros programas de soul en todo el mundo. La banda
incluso apareció en la televisión nacional francesa (France Ô - Témoins d’Outre-Mer -
junio de 2019).
En la primavera de 2022, tras el lanzamiento de su segundo álbum, P.O.J realizó una
gira muy aclamada por Europa (Alemania/Suiza/Países Bajos/Bélgica) junto al
cantante de soul Carlton Jumel Smith ("Lexington Avenue" - Timmion Records). Las
críticas fueron tan entusiastas que, solo un año después, regresaron a Alemania para
otra serie de conciertos, incluyendo una actuación como cabeza de cartel de soul en el
famoso Freedom Sounds Festival de Colonia en abril de 2023. El tercer álbum de
P.O.J ya está en preparación y su lanzamiento está previsto para el 1 de marzo de
2024 en Q-Sounds Recording. Según algunas críticas impresionantes, ¡este nuevo
trabajo apunta a ser uno de los mejores discos de soul contemporáneo de la década!
