Bursary students learning monkey data collection 🌿🐒 Today we are out in the forest with our bursary students learning monkey data collection, a lot of “wait…where did they go?” and “no, that’s not the same one”, and writing things down that may or may not be right, but I think they are starting to get it! #PGF #BursaryProgram #FieldLearning

Where is Hudson? He’s at the Nguuni Nature Conservancy, and that looks like a giraffe behind him. #PGF #Biodiversity #NatureWalks #Collaboration

Not gonna lie……the past couple of months have been difficult. After half of my staff was kicked out of the Gedi snake park, I had a bit of a “what now?” moment. But something really good has come out of it. We’ve started working with the Sita community near Mida Creek, and are now helping them build up their snake park in a way that puts the animals first - healthy, calm and able to do what they're supposed to do. #PGF #Partnership #CommunityEngagement

In the last year we have seen several monkeys elctrocuted due to uninsulated power lines. This is difficult to watch and even more difficult to get the power company to come insulate the lines. As a result we decided to take matters into our own hands by getting a ladder and having Kiraga trim the trees around the transformer. Thank you Kiraga and NMK. #PGF #WildlifeSafety #Conservation

Every once in a while you just have to go birding! Joining the Malindi/Kalifi North Birders group at Lake Jilore was a good opportunity. #PGF #Birding #Partnership #Biodiversity

Great to see high-quality, field-based conservation training happening on the ground in Kenya. Paul Schuette @paulschuette recently sent us some great images from a 4-day camera trapping course at Gedi National Monument hosted by the Centre for Wildlife Studies in partnership with Primate Global. It brought together participants from NGOs, government agencies, and conservation institutions. The training covered everything from sampling design and deployment to data management and analysis, while also launching the first mammal biodiversity survey of the site. SOLARIS TRAIL CAMERAS were deployed throughout the course, supporting hands-on training and real-world survey work. In environments like these, reducing battery dependence and maintenance is critical and solar-powered systems are starting to unlock longer, more scalable monitoring efforts. Just as importantly, 20 Kenyan conservationists are now equipped to run their own camera trap surveys across the country. This is the model: pairing the right technology with local capacity building to drive conservation forward. @cwsindia @primateglobal @kenyaforestservice @arabukosokokefriends @olpejeta #SOLARISTrailCameras #Solar #CameraTrap

What is Play? Have you ever seen monkeys chase each other and thought….are they playing or fighting? Sometimes it looks like fighting but it’s actually play. They might wrestle or run after each other, but nobody gets hurt. Play is one way that monkeys learn to be monkeys! #PGF #PrimateBehavior #WildlifeObservation

What is grooming? Sometimes monkeys sit together and pick through each other's fur very carefully. What are they looking for? They're grooming! They might be removing dirt or tiny bugs, but they're also spending time together. Grooming is one way monkeys stay connected in their group. #PGF #PrimateBehavior #WildlifeObservation

In monkey behavior, this is a threat display. Ajay is head bobbing to warn our videographer who may have gotten too close! 🐒 #PGF #PrimateBehavior #WildlifeObservation
