Last week I hopped over to Warsaw for a 5-day music production binge with the ever-talented Evergreen. We started a piece that begins soulfully, then finds its way to blowing out your speakers and the dancefloor. π«£ Keep your ears peeled in our upcoming sets and mixes!
Evergreen taught me a lot, and he is also a fabulous host, who can put together a 10/10 tantanmen ramen from scratch with his own hand-made noodles. I can't wait to return the favour with my own cooking!
This week our mix series sees @croakheads latest resident, the one and only @primaldnb stepping into the mix! This up-and-coming producer-DJ combo has been making one sonic statement of intent after another on imprints like @1.more.thing.uk , @neriumrecords & @evolutionaudiodnb for quite some time now, and weβre incredibly excited to get him on board! For this one, Primal has provided us with a journey through the βREDβ flavour of Dubstep he loves so much - named after his burning passion for it - with a bunch of unreleased tunes of his own, a couple of hidden gems and some classics. We are beyond excited to announce that the lovely @primaldnb will be joining our team as a resident stortyteller (DJ). π
Primal is incredibly creative, a wonderful stortyteller and exceptionally unique, with a powerful sound that captures attention and shows attention to craft and detail. π
He is also very supportive of small venues and a local grassroots champion, always proactive in his support for his local area of Bristol. π
With an astonishing debut in the Bristol underground with releases on @evolutionaudiodnb , @1.more.thing.uk , and @neriumrecords , Primal has begun a campaign to shape a dnb sound that wonβt stop any time soon. π
Inspired by the likes of Noisia, Mefjus, and Current Value, Primal seeks to marry a techy sound to the UKβs focus on pure vibes with a penchant for storytelling. π

I'm a sucker for a concept set, I love a good cause, I got all the time in the universe for independent promoters and b2bs are my favourite DJ sets.
Oh I have massive soft spots for both neuro and sci-fi.
So last night's 'storytelling' concept b2b between @djzabathefrog and @primaldnb was totally up 1 More Thing street!!!!
Refreshingly different, full of risks and loads of Star Trek dialogue and totally unapologetically daft and nerdy, this is the energy and attitude this platform is here to support, create and encourage!!!!
The fact they were raising funds for @musicvenuetrust is also beautiful and hugely significant.
Massive shouts to @croakheads and all the djs playing last night. Been meaning to make it to one of your nights and was not disappointed!
Independent promoters and the communities they build will forever be the true lifeblood of this culture. As we go into another shiny flashy (expensivey) festival season please remember that!!!
