Almost a year in the making. We are finally near completion of the remodel of 71 Throckmorton, I thought it would be fun to see where we started. #beforeandafter #exteriordesign #signage #prevalentprojects
Our latest design is live! The STINSON SECTIONAL is years in the making! It hit all our requirements for the ultimate sofa, deep down seating with a low back. We have it in store and online now. Benchmade in California, made in 6-8 weeks. A new line of upholstery is offered. Nontoxic too.
Original designs, bench-made in California, where craftsmanship and material are given the appreciation they deserve.
The Presidio Coffee Table is shown in both oak and walnut, each highlighting the richness and character of solid wood, and finished with natural, non-toxic oils.
The Corso Table pairs solid wood with quartzite; a metamorphic stone formed from sandstone, chosen for its strength, durability, and quiet, natural beauty.
Honest materials. Thoughtful construction. Pieces designed to last a lifetime.
Shop these designs online or visit our Mill Valley studio and showroom.

With the Big Glow pendant light, @rakumba_lighting looks to the sun and earth with equal reverence.
Big Glow’s softly rounded form mirrors the quiet, enveloping glow of sunlight itself—balancing a warm, ambient halo with focused downlighting that brings both atmosphere and function to a space.
At its core is an innovative material story: sustainably sourced Australian wool blended with plant-based, compostable fibers.
.
The designers found another clever use for the wool-based construction of Big Glow. The pendant naturally absorbs sound, softening a room both visually and acoustically.
Renewable, biodegradable, and thoughtfully engineered, the result is a shade that diffuses light beautifully while honoring a more responsible approach to design

We can’t say enough about this newest addition to our curated collection.
Harbour Outdoor strikes a rare balance—distinctive design paired with materials made to endure the elements, like sustainably sourced solid teak, powder-coated aluminum, and elegantly finished travertine.
What we love most: every piece is designed to be experienced from all sides. In an open-air setting, furniture should be as considered from the back as it is from the front—360° of beauty.
Explore the full collection online, with nearly every piece ready to ship for the warmer months ahead.

Introducing: Fluffy.
A study in texture, proportion, and quiet drama, this generously scaled armchair is one of our favorite pieces from Eikund.
Originally designed in 1954 by Fredrik A. Kayser, Fluffy reflects a moment when Scandinavian design balanced restraint with more expressive materials.
Eikund has meticulously reissued Fluffy as part of their mission to reaffirm Norwegian designers among the greats of Scandinavian design.
Along with reintroducing mid-century pieces, Eikund also revives the traditional craftsmanship that first brought them to life.
Swipe to see how Fluffy is crafted by hand...and scissor, we suppose... with each step mirroring the golden era of Scandinavian artistry.
Shop Fluffy online or stop by the showroom to experience Fluffy in-person.
We’re excited to share that Prevalent Projects is now the West Coast’s premier distributor of Rug & Kilim.
At Prevalent Projects, we curate pieces that stand the test of time—with natural materials, craftsmanship, and enduring beauty.
Here’s how these rugs embody the longevity, quality, and artisinal excellence that we strive for:
• Hand-knotted 100% wool. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted in regions with rich textile histories, honoring centuries-old weaving traditions.
• Naturally resilient. Wool contains lanolin—a natural protective coating that is antimicrobial, antibacterial, and resistant to stains, mold and mildew. 100% wool rugs age beautifully and protect your home, without harsh chemicals.
• Made to outlive trends. Unlike machine-made rugs with synthetic backing that deteriorates over time, hand-knotted wool rugs quite literally last for generations. In fact, the oldest known rug, the Pazyryk Rug, is a hand-knotted wool masterpiece just like the ones you see here... and it is still beautiful after 2,500 years.
A rug can be the most consequential work of art in a room—and these pieces are crafted to become part of your story for generations.
Visit our showroom to experience these pieces in person, or explore the collection online.

We snapped these pics while sourcing wood at @arborica_ca in West Marin - a step of the design process that always feels like an adventure!
Part lumber yard, part mill, and part showroom, Arborica is a place where you FEEL the craftsmanship and intention the moment you arrive.
Owner Evan Shively and his team salvage wood from loggers and tree fallers, then transform each piece into lovingly milled cuts and slabs destined for furniture, art, flooring, siding, and more.
As designers who believe natural materials carry energy, we’re deeply drawn to wood with a story. Knowing that Arborica’s process helps reduce deforestation, honors every part of a felled tree, and even returns unused material back to the earth as compost makes the end result feel even more meaningful.
Responsible design begins with responsible sourcing. The beautiful origins of this wood bring an added sense of warmth, integrity, and life into every space we create.
Fun fact, Prevalent Projects wasn’t even a figment of our imagination when we moved to Mill Valley.
We were honored to share our surprising origin story with Guy Raz on “How I Built This” — a story about building a values-driven interior design studio & store where beauty, place, and purpose all align.
Give it a listen if you like a tale with some twists and turns!

Why is it so rare to find glasswork like the Soda table by @miniformsofficial ?
Because only the most skilled artisans in the world can blow molten glass at 800 degrees into a mold of this scale, and coax out a piece that’s both sculptural and functional. Swipe to watch the glass-masters on the Italian island of Murano create the iconic Soda table.
One of our favorite things to do when building a project is to shop for natural stone.
We shot these while wandering the rows of stone slabs at @davincimarble in San Carlos, selecting pieces for upcoming projects.
Natural materials will always be at the heart of our work. There’s an honesty and purity in stone that can’t be replicated. No two slabs are alike.
To honor that integrity, we believe the sourcing must be just as intentional. We love Da Vinci Marble for that reason. The quality of their selcetion and expertise of their team is unmatched in our opinion.
Da Vinci’s buyers travel the world to hand-select materials, but their most exceptional slabs come from close relationships with Italy’s finest quarries. Through these long-fostered partnerships, Da Vinci has earned rare access to the most highly coveted selections…pieces that don’t tend to reach mainstream markets.
At Prevalent Projects, we feel that finishes prompt an emotional response and are equally as important as form.
