For the past three years, Tru Tattoo has proudly operated as an all-female tattoo shop. That decision was made intentionally and with purpose, and it’s been an experience we’re incredibly proud of. After thoughtful consideration — and with the support of the women who make this shop what it is — we’ve decided it’s time for a small shift as we continue to grow. While the tattoo industry is still largely male-dominated, we’ve found that limiting ourselves to only female artists has sometimes made it challenging to bring in the experienced, motivated talent needed to keep evolving at the level we strive for. Tru Tattoo will always remain women-owned and predominantly women-run. That foundation isn’t changing. We’re excited to officially welcome Marky Chavez to the team full-time and to open an additional booth for another artist — female or male — who aligns with our values and vision.
