International legendary actor, musician, spoken word artist and author, Lydia Lunch will be touring Australia in June 2026 performing The Songs of Suicide & Alan Vega saluting their 40 year Anniversary + performing spoken word shows “So Real It Hurts” with
Tex Perkins.
This workshop is an exclusive one date only in Sydney, hosted by Oxford Art Factory to coincide with sold out spoken word shows.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
*Lydia will share her vision + frame a process designed to encourage creativity and collaboration as an important means of artistic expression + personal growth.
*Participants are given tools to explore the power of their own voices and translate that energy to the stage.
*The class provides a safe space of protection and clarity to listen & share the deep language of the body + methods to invoke the creative impulse.
*Lydia will perform a variety of texts + invite participants to perform + experiment with their own material + discuss her own work in progress.
*Each participant is asked to bring 5 poems or 2 pages of prose or stories,
preferably of their own writing, to work on with Lydia in the space.
*Places are limited, 25 performers + 5 auditors.

THIS JUNE @lydia.lunch.official takes time out from her Songs of Suicide & Alan Vega Aust. Tour to perform a handful of very exclusive Spoken Word shows with @thecruelseaofficial and @thebeasts_music frontman @texperkinsofficial who will perform a never seen before set of sprawling soundscapes and dark electronic noise with just a laptop, guitar and voice. Melbourne is already sold out. The remaining shows are at @bris_powerhouse and @riversideparra . Don’t expect a Sydney CBD show as the Riverside Live at Phive show is your only chance to see the pair in Sydney. Video of Lydia by @artbyjasminehirst
