‼️Why does it feel SO BAD?? ‼️ I’ll let you into a secret….I used to have THE WORST Audition Nerves and hated how I did such a substandard job in auditions. I told myself I just wasn’t good at auditioning. But it WASN’T TRUE. I just got myself into a backwards mindset when it came to nerves. I accepted them in a performance but in those small studios standing on the spot I wanted them GONE. I could not accept them. So I had to get to work and find the balance between manageable nerves and acceptance of them existing. I DID IT! And now this is what I coach other performers to do. POV: The genuine joy of getting a self tape through vs the reality of what a self tape process CAN look like if you don’t always have the right strategies or tools in place. It actually doesn’t have to be that hard & with a few really simple boundaries & few strategies to prepare with as little stress as possible - it can be an amazing opportunity to show a team what you are capable of. Doing the work you love in the comfort of your own home can only be a great thing IF you frame it that way. Ultimately we want to be in the room with the team, but this is an amazing way to get there if you can reframe the way you look at self taping. Counting my lucky stars. ✨ I always knew that I’d be end up being in a creative industry because it’s in my bones. But honestly I never imagined I’d get to work with the people I’ve worked with. Learn from the best in the business & be a part of my dream shows & companies. Don’t get me wrong, it certainly hasn’t always been plain sailing & it’s bloody hard. But my god, I’m grateful for the opportunities, the travel, the people, the storytelling, the laughs and the abundance of love & acceptance that comes from so many people you end up working with. I created this little line up of bad ass women I’ve had the honour of playing and or covering. A little reminder for myself of just how far I’ve come. It’s easy to take it for granted. I can honestly say, I never have & I really hope I never do. I wonder if you can spot who everyone is 👀 ✨
