In General the Antenna Offset is used to
●Reducing the chance of locating the operator
●Improving concealment
●Reducing electromagnetic interference
Other methods of avoiding signal detection are
●Pre Selected Comm Windows
●Using Minimum Power Necessary
●Minimum Transmission Time
●Using Burst Transmission (Data)
●Mobility of Comm Sites

SSTV SERIES 32 IS UNDERWAY
Last night I had a beautiful over head pass at a max elevation of 84° was able to snag 2 photos during the pass 36 sec download with 2 mins off
In this video you see me making a real time doppler shift in the middle of the pass and can hear the audio quality immediately improve
With ham radio satellites, Doppler effect becomes noticeable because the satellite is moving very fast relative to you—often around 17,000 mph in low Earth orbit.
On approach, the received signal sounds higher in frequency. After the satellite passes overhead and starts moving away, it sounds lower.

The 6-meter amateur band is a section of radio spectrum used by amateur radio operators from 50.0 MHz to 54.0 MHz in the United States.
People often call it the “magic band” because it can behave two different ways:
Local communication like VHF line-of-sight
Unexpected long-distance propagation when band conditions open up (such as sporadic E)
It sits between the lower-frequency HF bands and higher-frequency VHF bands, which is why it has some unique propagation behavior.
Late spring through mid-summer (roughly May–July

Although this wasn't planned, but, the month of May for the group is everything radio /communications (commo).
Today's class was an introductory to radio, along with the different methods/setups between Individual / Family Communications & Team Communications.
We also did some minor coverage on the radio spectrum, antennas, different radio services that the common man has access too, the benefits of having a manpack, and also discussed the silly gatekeeping that occurs online.
At the end of day, we are not here to create dedicated radio operators (RTOs). The goal is to teach the basics and hopefully create a habit of maintaining proficiency within the world of commo.
146.520 CHALLANGE is an attempt get get more hams talking and monitoring the freq.146.520 is concerned the NATIONAL CALLINGFREQUENCY but not well used nowadays
In Eastern North Carolina its a very quiet freq with the local repators always having traffic

146.520 is the National Calling Frequency
It is used for direct radio-to-radio communication (no repeaters) to establish contact, particularly by travelers, for emergency monitoring, and to locate other operators in a new area.

HAND AND ARM SIGNAL
The purpose of military hand and arm signals is straightforward: to communicate clearly and silently when speaking isn’t possible or would give away your position.
Hand signals let units communicate without alerting the enemy.
Signals are standardized, so everyone understands commands quickly.
Leaders use signals to direct movement, formations, halts, and actions.
Especially critical for fire teams and squads operating independently.

WELP Give a Marine a piece of gear and 1 of three thing will happen they WILL BREAK IT, LOSE IT OR IMPREG..... yeah you know. First off dont drop/ have your gear fall over.
Second @armoloq Rails did their job protecting the radio.
It sucks but the radio is 100% working and nothing seems to be wrong the manpack will go back in the bag and on to another adventure

@prepcomms posted this to stories today…. Saw it this evening and reminded me of when I had spotty phone coverage on my job site today and my wife was trying to get ahold of me…. So yeah—make sure you family has a plan and knows how to use the plan.
