This workshop is for intermediates or anyone who did bharatanatyam in the past to know basic adavus, or regular classes or even did your arangetram but it’s dropped off your radar because of life! trust me that’s happened to me too, and you have all the muscle memory there so let’s activate it and get you dhith dith thai-ing around again!!
After class, we will also head to Sour Duck Market to hang out together!! In a world where we all feel a little disconnected sometimes, how beautiful is it to bond over our experiences of reinviting bharatanatyam in our lives again 🥹

teaching this beginner Bharatanatyam Fusion workshop was truly so special to me 🥹
we started with posture, positions, hand gestures (mudras), and basic steps (adavus) and from there, we used those same mudras and adavus to begin learning the choreography together!!
I am SO proud of these two girlies in the video 🥹
@caughtwithsmiles came from a Kathak background and this was her FIRST time learning Bharatanatyam, and she absolutely killed it!!
@vaish_venkat trained in Bharatanatyam and brought such beautiful stylistic nuances that honestly inspired me!!
moments like these remind me how beautiful dance can be when we learn from each other, step out of our comfort zones, and simply show up 🥰
