Introducing Lillian Rose Prater!
Lily was born on Dec 1st - 8lb 13oz and 19.7” long, but it’s been a rough ride between then and now. There were some complications at birth that caused hypoxia and pulmonary hypertension. She was immediately taken to the NICU and started on an induced hypothermia treatment that was meant to protect her brain, as well as an oscillating ventilator with nitric oxide. She was fighting for her life, but luckily it’s been good news since then. She was released from the NICU last Friday (after three weeks, and just in time for Christmas!) with no anticipated long term effects which is an incredible result for a kiddo that’s been through what she has. We’re incredibly thankful to have her in our lives and can’t wait to see all the amazing things she’ll do!
Filmmaking isn’t about winning or losing, but damn it’s nice when the good filmmakers get recognized. @kittypawsxoxo you’ve made one hell of a film, and I couldn’t be happier to see it getting the praise it deserves. It was a pleasure and an honor to be trusted with the sound on such a personal and unique film. And of course a huge thank you to @jpbolles for bringing me in, and continuing to be a dream collaborator as always.
Congrats to @kittypawsxoxo , @jpbolles and everyone who contributed to this film. Not just for winning the Audience Award at SXSW, but for making a damn fine piece of art!
Some days I get out from behind the desk, and this was definitely one to remember! I had the pleasure of helping to record the Menzies Racing trophy truck alongside the legendary John Fasal as a part of Torq Audio and Source Sound. Today’s progress on the house reno: frame and drywall the new bathroom wall. I’m going to try to do a better job of documenting the progress over on my woodworking page @sound_designs so stay tuned over there for more!
