Our first Rasa Sayang BTS post is dedicated to the boys who brought Rasa Sayang to the screen - our camera department.
First, our talented Brother Wan @wanmansg DP for Rasa Sayang who stood by our director Josh @pratabomb every step of the way, the ups and the downs - the entire journey.
Wan is the eyes of Rasa Sayang and he didnt just bring artistry, mastery and flair (and flare) to the set, he brought with him an open heart to accept and support a rather amateur editorial team - afterall this is our director's first narrative. He asked the why when we were focused on the what, he reminded us of the picture when we were lost in the dialogue.
And when we debated on creatives, the answer is always the same, "We shoot for story first, we talk later."

Through heartache, and quiet moments of resistance, RASA SAYANG explores how far love can stretch in the face of difference—and whether acceptance is possible, even when we don't agree.

The passion short film “Blue Kebaya”, a film by @pratabomb that I had the opportunity to DP for. It’s the story of a Peranakan teenager who cross dresses as a Nyonya in a Wayang performance, and how his traditional father deals with it.
I prefer the unofficial non PC title in Malay - “Pondan”.
Super stoked to be involved in this film from start to end, to see the creation of a story that’s close to his heart, and help create the mood and visuals that fit.
It’s a small passion project, but so many rallied behind the film and helped. I have so many people to thank personally, and that requires a post by itself. This one’s a small BTS teaser I managed to sneak in with my Fujifilm X100V on our set.
