Sabbath Meditations is now available wherever books are sold. This is a book that’s designed to be picked up, again and again, for moments of prayer and reflection as you gather with family or community on Sabbath. If it’s helpful to you, we hope it becomes part of your tradition — one small way of keeping Sabbath as a day set apart to stop, rest, delight, and worship God. You can buy the book, and find free Sabbath resources, at practicingtheway.org/sabbath-meditations or at the link in bio.

From Sabbath in 2022 to Witness in 2026, over 60,000 groups (and counting) have run one or more of the nine Practices. Our first major offering to the Church is complete. We’re thanking God and every one of you who helped make it possible through your prayers and generosity. We can’t wait to share what we’re working on next.

Complete your first reflection for free at practicingtheway.org/reflection. We don’t drift towards becoming like Jesus. Our natural trajectory is typically in the opposite direction. That’s why we need to regularly and honestly reflect on who we’re becoming, and listen for the Spirit’s invitations and gentle warnings. And one way to make space for that is through the Spiritual Health Reflection.

This excerpt from Sabbath Meditations is originally from Tish Harrison Warren’s beautiful book, Liturgy of the Ordinary. You’ll find more reflections on embracing limits in the “Rest” section of Sabbath Meditations, available now wherever books are sold or at the link in bio.

The John Mark Comer Teachings podcast is now called Practicing the Way with John Mark Comer. Catch each episode by following the podcast at practicingtheway.org/ptw-podcast. In addition to the new name, look for a new series coming your way May 18: Water from a Deep Well, a conversation between John Mark and Jerry Sittser on the rich spirituality of the Church through history.

Sabbath is a quiet rebellion against “always-on” expectations that emanate from the world around us and from within our own souls. This excerpt is from the “Stop” section of Sabbath Meditations, available now at your favorite booksellers or at the link in our bio.

Sabbath can cause fear. Who am I if I’m not performing? What will happen if I don’t get things done? But Sabbath is a gift from a loving, generous, wise God with good intentions toward us. It’s a day to remember we’re not what we do, or what we have, or what people think of us. We are who we are deeply loved by. You can preview the Sabbath Practice at practicingtheway.org/sabbath.

As we enter Sabbath, take a moment to pause, breathe deeply and say this prayer with us.

Deep healing and change happens when people live in communities of safety and vulnerability. That’s why we’re crowdfunding to help more people practice the Way of Jesus in loving community. You can be a part of it at practicingtheway.org/futurechurch.

When pastors live in community instead of isolation, they thrive, and their churches are able to thrive. We’re crowdfunding to help pastors in 250 churches move into deeper life with Jesus, alongside other pastors. You can be a part of it at practicingtheway.org/futurechurch or at the link in bio.
