PFI recognizes the critical importance of connecting beginning farmers and retiring landowners, as well as connecting existing farmers with more opportunities for land access. Our new website makes it easier to explore our resources, including land-matching support, succession-planning resources for retiring landowners and more. See how PFI can support your land needs using the link in our bio.

Our latest cost-share is currently enrolling! Our 2026 cost-share for extended rotations supports farmers growing oats, cereal rye, wheat, barley or triticale. There are two options: Small grains cost-share: Harvest a small grain in 2026 and follow it with a frost-seeded or summer-planted cover crop with at least one legume species. Reduction of applied nitrogen on corn cost-share: Reduce nitrogen inputs to 2026 corn that follows a small grain with a cover crop or leguminous hay crop. Enroll now using the link in our bio.

Central Missouri grazier Greg Judy has spent more than two decades building a South Pole cattle herd that works with his land. In our latest YouTube video, Greg shares why he believes the real key to profitability isn't what you earn per animal – it's what you earn per acre. Farm-fresh basil is a summer staple for many, and an important crop for horticultural farmers in the direct-to-consumer market. However, the fungal disease powdery mildew can reduce the quality and shorten the harvest window of the crop. In 2022, multiple farmers conducted on-farm research to see if new varieties Prospera DMR and Rutgers Devotion DMR would provide greater resilience to powdery mildew. Review the full research report using the link in our bio.

We're excited to share that PFI's "Don't Farm Naked" billboards won a first-place award for billboards or outdoors signs at the National Agri-Marketing Association Best of NAMA awards! Sarah Krumm, PFI's graphic design and photography manager, designed the billboards and accepted the award on behalf of both PFI and our advertising agency partner, Trilix. The award was presented April 15 in St. Louis, Missouri, during the 2026 Agri-Marketing Conference. What an exciting start to this spring for PFI, especially as many of our farmers prepare to not farm naked.
