There are more shades to black than you realize.All black appears the same on screen. Differences are only revealed after printing. (And there goes your print $)Pure, or ‘flat’ black, is precise. It helps hold 7pt text intact, crisp, and sharp. Mixed, or ‘rich’ black, has depth. Drenched in magenta, yellow, and cyan inks, it carries weight. It offers better coverage for backgrounds or big, chunky headlines.Go deeper into printing techniques at our next workshop. We’re here to help.Our next workshop is organized by Professor Corey Perez-Vergara of GRDS. He will guide you through best printing practices for both big and small projects.The workshop will be invaluable whether or not you are participating in the Fight for Kindness poster competition — but of course, we’d love for you to bring your work-in-progress posters. Corey will take you through document setup, tips and tricks for best outcomes. We’ll print your posters and provide wall crits from both our advisors and your peers.We also listened to your needs — The workshop falls on a Saturday so more can attend.Work and photos by Corey. Terran Gothic is a futuristic display typeface designed to close the gap between what SyFy is, and what it could be — a brand with the visual defiance to stand alongside @adultswim . 

Built from sharp geometry, condensed forms, and a fully invented alien script, Joe’s work makes the case that reclaiming an identity can begin with a typeface.
