🚨 The U.S. Supreme Court has allowed mifepristone, one of two medications used in a medication abortion, to remain accessible via telehealth and the mail while a case makes its way through the courts.

Yesterday, we hosted a Faith Leaders Advocacy Day. Our coalition partners met at the general assembly to lobby our representatives to support House Bill 1120: Direct Funding to Evidence-Based Maternal & Infant Care Over Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs).
CPCs reputation for misleading pregnant patients under the guise of a religious mission has deadly consequences in North Carolina, and we know as people of faith, they do not represent our values.
According to the March of Dimes, 40% of North Carolina counties have NO hospitals/ birth centers offering maternity care. NC has nearly double the rate of maternal mortality compared to the national average.
Why is public state funding directed to CPCs instead of towards evidence-based programs proven to improve maternal and infant health run by community health centers and hospitals?
🚨 Yesterday, the U.S. Supreme Court temporarily restored nationwide access to mifepristone — one of the two medications used in a medication abortion — allowing it to be prescribed via telehealth and sent by mail.
Medication abortion is safe and still available in states where abortion is legal.
