There are only seven more days until our share offer closes. We are tantalisingly close to reaching our minimum target. £60,000 will ensure enough vital working capital to see us through the renovation period of 17-21 Chapel Street before we can open our doors for good. We cannot do this without you. The power of community is transformational. Help us protect this important historic building for future generations. Please invest today, and help spread the word. We’ve hit £50,000! 🥳 We are so excited and grateful to hit this incredible milestone - a huge thank you to all eveyone who has invested. We’re so grateful for every penny invested and bowled over by the support! PPP took ownership of 17-21 Chapel Street, a Grade II listed building, in 2025 to restore the building and develop a new home for communities and creatives in the heart of Bradford. However, a significant amount of refurbishment is needed to make the building fit for use again. We can only make that vision a reality with your investment. We are now just £10,000 away from our minimum target, please consider investing today to help us get there. If you’ve already invested, are you able to consider investing more? All the details available on our website through the link in our bio.

"A lot of people with energy and ideas coming together and trying to make something happen is a beautiful thing." This is the future we want to create at 17-21 Chapel Street, with your investment we can make that happen. Find out more using the link in bio. 🎥 by the brilliant BAFTA-nominated @jackkingfilm .

Returning to our roots 🌱 17-21 Chapel Street is a building that reflects Bradford’s social and industrial heritage. Built in 1832 by Quakers, to educate the children of the local working class, the site consisted of two stone-built schoolhouses separated by a courtyard - One for boys on Chapel Street, and another, to the rear, for girls and infants, with playgrounds and living quarters for teachers attached. The local Society of Friends (part of the Quaker movement) formed the Bradford Friends’ School Association in 1829 and raised money to start a day school for "the labouring people of all religious denominations in the town and neighbourhood of Bradford". This collectively-funded endeavour is the earliest example of how the building has generated social benefit for local people. As the building’s new custodians, the People’s Property Portfolio plans to revive 17-21 Chapel Street as a resource for community once more. Invest now and back our ambition via the link in our bio 🔗

"When a community space is owned by the people of Bradford, they have a sense of agency over it. They feel like they can make decisions and steer things in a way where they feel like it's reflective of them and their communities and their people." Aamta-Tul Waheed Spaces for communities to come together have never been more important. We believe buildings should be shared community resources - strengthening resilience through exchange, solidarity, creativity and collaboration, while opening access to the spaces and resources communities need most. We know Bradford's creative and community sectors deserve secure, high-quality spaces to do their vital work for our city. But it's more than that, by investing, you become a member and co‑owner of the People's Property Portfolio. Being a member of PPP means having an important role in defining the direction of the organisation, participating in the democratic processes of our Community Benefit Society, and helping us deliver our ambition. We’ve managed to raise over £45,000 in just 6 weeks - thank you to everyone who has invested and helped to spread the word so far, we’re absolutely bowled over by all the support! However, we still have a way to go to meet our minimum £60,000 target, and want to shoot for our stretch target of £90,000, which would create vital funds to support the building redevelopment, getting us operationally set up, and supporting the organisation as it goes through a period of growth. To build on the incredible momentum and support so far, we’re extending our share offer campaign until Friday 22nd May, giving us another month to hit our target. You can invest anything, from £50 - £9000 - all of which can be paid in instalments and, in return, your investment will create lasting change beyond any single building. Share investments also help lay the foundations for a community-owned portfolio of buildings that will serve local people and protect our historic buildings for future generations.
