Today, on the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia, we celebrate LGBTQ+ communities, while acknowledging the very real harm caused by discrimination, stigma, and political attacks.
Everyone deserves the freedom to access compassionate and affirming health care and live as their authentic selves without fear.💯
At Planned Parenthood of Michigan, we remain committed to providing high-quality, judgment-free care to LGBTQ+ Michiganders today and every day. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Today, Planned Parenthood of Michigan (PPMI) sent an open letter to Governor Gretchen Whitmer, warning that without state funding, PPMI will be forced to close health centers in response to attacks from the Trump administration and Republicans in Congress.
For months, PPMI has warned the governor’s office and the legislature about nearing this crisis point. The governor’s office told us the answer lies with the Legislature, while the Legislature has directed us back to the Governor. Michigan’s patients are not a football to be passed between branches of government while a funding crisis compounds. Someone has to act – and we are asking Governor Whitmer to be that someone.
If Gov. Whitmer does not act to provide short-term funding, health centers in Michigan will be forced to close, making it even harder for patients and communities to get health care.

We’re excited to announce that Nikki Sapiro Vinckier, PA-C, will join us as a featured speaker at Planned Parenthood of Michigan’s annual Detroit-area fundraiser at the Roostertail. 💙
Nikki is a Detroit-area OB/GYN Physician Assistant, reproductive health educator, and author of the newly released "We Deserve More: How the Medical System Fails Gynecological Healthcare—And What You Can Do About It." With more than a decade in clinical care, Nikki uses her platform to break down complex health care systems into clear, accessible guidance.
Join us for an evening of cocktails and community, and hear the latest updates on the fight for reproductive freedom. Donations to this event will help PPMI continue to deliver high-quality, essential medical services to patients throughout Metro Detroit and the state.

Birth control is about more than preventing pregnancy. It’s about having the freedom to decide what your future looks like on your own terms. But that freedom is under attack by the same politicians working to ban abortion.
On #FreeThePill Day, join us in advocating for a world where everyone can access the birth control they need, without barriers or political interference. Because your birth control should belong to you — not politicians. 👏
Mifepristone is safe and effective — and has been FDA approved for over 25 years. It has helped patients make medical decisions in private and has expanded access to abortion care as lawmakers continue to restrict abortion.
Medical research and evidence overwhelmingly prove that providing mifepristone to patients by mail using telehealth is just as safe and effective as providing the medication in person at a health center.
Everyone should be able to get abortion care when and where they need it. 💯
It’s May! That means it is officially #SexEdForAllMonth! Effective sex education empowers young people to make decisions that are best for their lives and experiences. No matter what choices young people make about sex and relationships, they should stem from empowerment, not shame. 💞

Earlier today, the U.S. Supreme Court temporarily restored access to mifepristone by mail. Mifepristone is one of two medications that make up "the abortion pill."
At this time, PPMI will continue providing medication abortion with the standard mifepristone and misoprostol regimen for both in-person and telehealth appointments. If you need an abortion or have questions about a scheduled appointment, please call us at 800-230-7526 (PLAN) or visit our website at PPMI.org.

In this moment, your support matters more than ever before. Learn how you can help protect access to care at the link in our bio.
