Inga (Inga edulis) is a fast-growing nitrogen-fixing legume tree that helps restore and build soil fertility. It feeds the soil, creates shade, and helps to build conditions for everything to thrive.
Some trees grow to be harvested. Others grow so everything around them can. Inga does both.
Inga teaches us to enrich everything we touch — not extracting, but building.

What does it actually mean to restore a forest?
Not just the land — the food systems, the knowledge, the seeds, the people who have tended it for generations.
People of the Forest. This is our work.
#PeopleOfTheForest
It all starts with the soil. Understanding how to provide the right conditions for life to flourish is one of the greatest lessons for us all. It comes from the microscopic universe that serves as the foundation for all life, with which we interact everyday with our feet, our hands.
In the Amazon Rainforest, there are very particular conditions that support the immense variety of life. When those conditions are changed, when trees are cut down, the soil can quickly become depleted and lifeless. This is the story of how hybridised systems of agroforestry can bring life back and support a thriving, fruitful system once again.

On our previous trip to Mutum, we met 16 year old @vinnya___yawanawa
He instantly took a deep interest in the filmmaking process and shared his own passion for making images…
His wish is to tell stories, to document the traditions, the rituals and the daily life in the forest. Not just for the joy that it brings him, but also to play his part in preserving the culture and heritage of his people, the Yawanawá.
With the help of donations and support, @reforestfilms films and @pploftheforest donated Vinnya his first DSLR camera.
His next goal is to learn editing - with your support, we will source an editor from Brazil to develop his already flourishing skills.
We are grateful to be helping Vinnya share these incredibly important insights into an essential ecosystem under threat, that preserves our shared human heritage.
