Last week, a court granted a motion by the Trump administration, allowing the devastating defund of Planned Parenthood health centers across the nation to go into effect. Here’s what that means for California 👆
You may have heard that Congressional Republicans passed a bill today to block Planned Parenthood health centers from receiving federal funding.
While this is true, we want to assure people that Planned Parenthood health centers in California remain open to serve patients. 🩷
Proud to have the support of Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California.
I am committed to protecting reproductive freedom, abortion rights, expanding access to care, and making sure every Californian can make decisions about their own body without a politician getting in the way.
PPAC trusts Xavier Becerra to fight for your reproductive rights and access to affordable health care.
He’s the only candidate in the race who has spent nearly four decades on the frontlines of the fight for reproductive freedom. He won’t back down in fighting for us — now or ever.
Vote Xavier Becerra for California governor by Tuesday, June 2nd!
@ppactionca CEO Jodi Hicks knows that I will be a Governor who will fight for and protect reproductive rights. I will make sure that everyone has a safety net and has access to the care they need.
When the federal government defunded Planned Parenthood in July 2025, California stepped in with state funding to keep health centers open. In many ways it is a win but, 3.4 million Californians are still at risk of losing Medi-Cal coverage under the new federal cuts, and California’s safety net was already carrying patients from states that had lost access years ago. 80% of Planned Parenthood patients here rely on public insurance. Nearly 90% are below the federal poverty line. The infrastructure is holding but it is not invincible.
Grateful for the opportunity to host a fireside chat with @ppactionca CEO @jodihicks916 ahead of a day of action in Sacramento.
California has helped lead the nation on women’s rights – and we are not slowing down.
The California State Senate remains committed to protecting women’s rights and access to healthcare, despite attempts from this federal administration to roll back our progress.
🚨Reproductive freedom is still on the line in California🚨
The anti-abortion majority in Congress has ‘defunded’ Planned Parenthood health centers and are doing everything in their power to restrict abortion access nationwide.
But we have the power to decide what’s next.
