self-critical. I don't write poems much. Would love constructive criticism... Most of the time, we are our biggest self-critic. Like many of my fun projects, this one sat in the vault. Constantly thinking about it. Took me days to find this piece, almost gave up, but there it was, sitting in a very old ssd drive, waiting to be finished. Now that school (Maymester) is over, I have free time to create and finish what I started. As a creative, perfectionism is both a blessing and a curse. Yea, things will be great in the end, but will we ever see the end? Burning yourself out, unfinished projects. For what? Why are you stressing yourself out? especially when it's a passion project. Go with the flow. Art is not meant to be perfect. Being imperfect is what makes us our own beings. It's what separates us from the rest. Its individuality. The closest thing you can get to perfection is by being imperfect. So go ahead.. work on that project, put that pen to paper, start that pitch deck, and make the damn thing. Putting off your creativity to learn every single way to avoid conflict or waiting to get that new, expensive camera will only hold you back. The best way to learn is actually taking action. At least you're building your portfolio and gaining experience as you fail. If something goes wrong, it's okay. Now you know. Find the issue, problem solve, and move on. Mistakes will be made as the growing human being you are. That's just life. Embers. The quiet, aching glow of something that once burned bright.
