It is the greatest honor for me to wear the maple leaf. I am proud of this group of fighters and what we have accomplished together. The challenge was great, and we left everything on the ice. It’s true that gold would have been the ultimate reward, but I am proud of this silver medal. That’s also the beauty of sport. You don’t win all the time, the margins between victory and defeat are thin, but in the end, what you remember is the journey you had together and the effort you put in. All the girls in the dressing room had the maple leaf and the values of their country engraved in their hearts. And for that, I will be eternally grateful to have been named their captain ❤️ Thank you to everyone who supported us, believed in us, and stood behind us every step of the way. Le défi était de taille et nous avons tout laissé sur la glace. C’est vrai que l’or aurait été la récompense ultime mais je suis fière de cette médaille d’argent. C’est aussi ça la beauté du sport. On ne gagne pas tout le temps, les marges entre la victoire et la défaite sont minces, mais au final ce qu’on retient c’est le chemin qu’on a parcouru ensemble et l’effort qu’on a donné. Toutes les filles dans cette chambre avaient la feuille d’érable et les valeurs de leur pays tatouées sur le cœur. Et pour ça, je serai éternellement reconnaissante d’avoir été élue leur capitaine. ❤️ Merci à toutes celles et tous ceux qui nous ont soutenues, qui ont cru en nous et qui ont été derrière nous à chaque étape du parcours. Je suis fière d’être canadienne. 🇨🇦
