Sydney’s 𝐏𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 ( @potionband ) bring a heavier, slower force to this year’s 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐍𝐄, fusing doom, sludge and psych.
Live, 𝐏𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 are all volume and tension — long-form tracks that build and collapse under waves of feedback and groove. For a lineup packed with speed and aggression, their set will offer a different kind of heaviness: slower, darker, and just as intense.

So thankful to this man for birthing everything I hold sacred in this world. From being a confused and fucked up teenager, picking up a guitar for the first time, Stella and I’s relationship, most of my friendships and the beginnings of this band - Ozzy and Sabbath have been the undercurrent to it all. Potion are one of Australia’s best doom bands. Absolutely world class. It was rad to see ‘em with King Parrot again. The first time I saw Potion was opening for King Parrot & Phil Anselmo back on the Thrash, Blast, Grind tour in 2019. Potion absolutely blew me away at that gig and I’ve been a fan since. Tremendous band and even better people! Can’t recommend ‘em enough. Check out the compilation record, Ageless. If you’re savvy and cultured enough to buy an LP, you can even spot one of my photos on the back cover.
