We're honored to share that Post Ranch Inn has been awarded MICHELIN's Three Key distinction for the second consecutive year. The Three Key designation is MICHELIN's highest honor for hotels, recognizing properties that deliver exceptional experiences across every dimension of guest service, design, and sense of place.
Receiving this distinction once was extraordinary. Earning it two years in a row confirms that our approach, where Big Sur's landscape informs everything from architecture to hospitality, continues to resonate at the highest level. This recognition belongs to our entire team, whose dedication brings Post Ranch Inn to life every day, and to the guests who trust us to share Big Sur with them in meaningful ways.

Best way to end a hike 🌲🌊 Members of the @santaluciapreserve adventured through 3 hours of Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, where towering redwoods, a lively waterfall, and sweeping coastal views set the tone for the morning. After the trail, the group gathered for a family-style lunch at the iconic @sierramarrestaurant at @postranchinn , making for a perfect finish to a day well spent on the coast. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this one-of-a-kind experience together!
Two Kitchens. One Coastline.
Join us May 26 & 27 as we welcome Executive Chef Kyle St. John of The Ranch at Laguna Beach to Post Ranch Inn for The California Table, an exclusive two-night event celebrating the ingredients, landscapes, and stewardship practices that define world-class dining along the California coast.
The event unfolds on the afternoon of May 26 for bites and local pours in the Chef's Garden. The following night, the two chefs move into Sierra Mar for a collaborative menu featuring ingredients and philosophies that have shaped their respective kitchens.
The garden event is for hotel guests, while the Sierra Mar dinner is open to anyone with a restaurant reservation. Very limited seating remaining. Reservations at the link in bio.

We’re honored to be included in the 2026 T+L 500 list by Travel + Leisure—a recognition of some of the world’s most exceptional stays.
At Post Ranch Inn, this acknowledgment is a reflection of something greater than us. It speaks to the spirit of Big Sur—where land, ocean, and sky come together to create moments that linger long after you leave.
Our commitment remains the same: to offer an experience deeply rooted in this place we’re fortunate to call home—one that invites connection, reflection, and a sense of awe. We invite you to share a special moment that still resonates.
The full 2026 T+L 500 list appears in the May issue of @travelandleisure .

There are places that remind you what really matters. Big Sur is one of them.
Standing at the edge of the world, where the mountains fade into the sea and the fog moves through the redwoods like it has somewhere to be, it's difficult not to feel both the wonder and the weight of the natural world. It shapes how we build, how we operate, and what we ask of ourselves as stewards of this particular corner of California.
Sustainability, for us, has never been a program, a checklist or a talking point. It's the reason the property looks and feels the way it does. It's the reason the Chef's Garden exists, the reason the land around us is managed the way it is, the reason we give back to the community.
We don't always get it perfect. But the intention is genuine, and the commitment is long.
On Earth Day, we hope you'll find a moment to step outside, breathe deeply, and let the world remind you of what's worth protecting.
We'll be doing the same.

For years I dreamed of someone bringing me here... Then one day, I realized I could take myself
The first time I entered my room and saw the open expanse of the sea, I felt enveloped and something inside me gave way
I teared up — moved by the sheer beauty, and also by a quiet recognition of the journey that had brought me here
At the edge of the world, I saw my life clearly: the years of longing, sacrifice, and of becoming. All of it somehow reflected back to me in that vast horizon
I had grown into the life I once imagined, and being here simply revealed who I already was
Each time I return, it isn’t an aspiration anymore — it feels like stepping into a world that was always waiting for me

Happy Birthday, Post Ranch Inn!
Since April 9, 1992, we have welcomed guests to a place where land meets sea, architecture lives in harmony with nature, and time slows just enough to reconnect with what matters most.
Here’s to 34 years of beauty, intention, and unforgettable moments in Big Sur. Thank you to all our guests and the Post Ranch team for making it so meaningful.

The first Oyster and Trumpet mushrooms of the season, harvested from our Chef’s Garden. At Sierra Mar, they will be transformed into dishes that reflect the season and the land.
