Posto serves antipasti, insalate, handmade pastas, grilled meats, fresh fish and poultry, dolce and of course their iconic Neapolitan-style pizza—fired in a custom Italian oven at 850+ degrees. They use imported “00” flour, San Marzano tomatoes, house-made fiore di latte mozzarella (fresh daily), and local farmers and artisans whenever possible.

I took Azalea to the new @michaelmovie the night it premiered at Assembly Row in Somerville. After the movie we grabbed a bite at @postoboston . Posto been around since 09’. They started at Davis Sq, then moved to Assembly Row and opened a 2nd location in South Boston. The pizza is what they’re most known for and it’s because executive chef & top pizza chef @juangpizza is in the kitchen. Juan was just ranked 56th out of the top 100 pizza chefs last year! Juan started his pizza journey in 09 when he moved to Boston from Colombia. He was washing dishes at California Pizza Kitchen before getting a chance to make the pizzas. He developed a love for it and over time, mastered his craft.
The pizza was amazing, truly. I’m not a huge Neapolitan fan but I like it. The dough on this was great and so were the toppings. The atmosphere is live, it’s very big and spacious. Outside of the pizza, the pastas were great and so wasn’t the mortadella with the candied pistachio. I’ll be seeing Juan again soon. I might just grab a meal with him. Come by Posto and try a pizza. Take in the ambience. And let em know who sent ya!
Ps, the Michael Jackson movie was great. Of course they missed a lot… you can’t squeeze 20 years of the best of all time into 2 hours. Jafaar did amazing and so did the rest of the cast. I loved it.
