EXT. CATALINA ISLAND – DAY Catching an early buzz on the ferry in. Sun already doing its job. Empty stomach, 9am, a little tipsy. Call it sea-sickness. See where the day goes Four people. Light ba… Heavy bags of food and beverage. We’re improvising. Too expensive to shop on the island. EXT. AVALON – LATE AFTERNOON Eat here. Drink there. Check the shops. Nothing scheduled, nothing missed. Camera’s feeling heavy. Like a burden. We’ll pick up with filming later. EXT. ISLAND – NIGHT Back to the house. Supervising the grill with a few glasses of wine. Eating too much, can’t save leftovers.

Not a lot to do today. Have been trying to find motivation to shoot for a few hours. Think I’ll look around.

SAN FRANCISCO — WEEKEND Golden Gate overlook. Stayed a few. Street level after that. Bars, coffee, something cooking on most corners. Didn’t keep track of where. Faith in and out of frame. Palace of Fine Arts. Sat longer than expected. Chinatown at night. Lights came on. Kept walking.

INT. OFFICE / SUNROOM – MORNING Sun pours in. Music’s already playing. Something upbeat. Hard not to move a little. A sketch on green paper. Red hair. Red dress. Close enough to fit. Not quite.

A FACÓN straight razor appears. Borrowed from the bathroom, unplanned, effective.

Quick trim. Just enough.

The frame comes apart. Backing added. Bracket tightened. The sketch goes in. The frame closes. Tape measure. A mark on the wall.

A pink hammer taps the nail in. That’s noted. Briefly appreciated.

The frame goes up. He steps back. Sits down. Lets the song play out. Morning continues.

EXT. HOLLYWOOD – NIGHT Two figures walk under the spill of a neon sign. The BRICKYARD glows in flickering red. One stops at the payphone outside. Drops in a quarter. A beat. He says something low, then slams the receiver back onto its hook. The metal clang hangs in the air. They push through the door. INT. BRICKYARD PUB – NIGHT Dim light. High ceilings. A pool table that’s been around longer than anyone in the room. Three beers on the rail. The game’s half-serious at best. The rules are invented in real-time, changing as the balls scatter.

Chicago. July. Dusk. Out of focus soft blue light. The sky is listening, pouring whiskey. Time for dinner.

INT. LOS ANGELES – 10:34 AM – THE AIR IS THICK WITH STAGNATION AND SINS UNPAID Woke up sweating. Not from heat — from dread. The kind that creeps in through deadlines, unanswered emails, and the psychological warfare of Los Angeles cloud cover in June. Caffeine did nothing. Inspiration, less.
So I did what any person with a loose grip on responsibility and a tighter grip on the absurd would do:
I grabbed a pair of swim trunks that looked like a parachute, blasted Sergio Mendes, and got the hell out.
CUT TO: NEWPORT BEACH – HIGH SATURATION – MORALLY NEUTRAL We hit the coast like runaways from a wellness cult.
Tequila in thermoses. Someone brought shrimp. There was laughter — the kind that feels illegal before noon. We swam, we toasted to nothing, we evaded our lives like professionals.
I watched the sun set like it owed me money. And for one blurry, beautiful moment, I forgot I was a man who hadn’t made anything meaningful in weeks.
I was just a sunburnt animal in borrowed joy.
 Just beachy, baby.
And wildly unqualified to be anything else. #Cinematic #videographer #losangeles #Newportbeach #cinematography #filmmaker #sunset #beachday #dayinthelife #fujifilm #fujifeed #myfujifilmlegacy

Monday. 9 AM. INT. APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - DAY I wake up with a mission—be productive, get things done, take control of my life. A fresh cup of coffee in hand, I settle in, ready to conquer the day. The world is mine. Monday. 9:45 AM. I make a second cup. For efficiency. For focus. To feel something. Monday. 10:15 AM. I am vibrating at an unnatural frequency. My thoughts move faster than my body can process. I start an email, abandon it mid-sentence. Open a document, forget why I’m here. Stand up, sit down, stand up again. My to-do list looks at me. I look back. It's mocking me. Monday. 11 AM. I surrender. The unbearable weight of success has won. I retreat to the couch, staring blankly into the distance, the hum of caffeine-induced anxiety filling the air. This is my life now. A man with ideas, a short attention span, and a body running purely on espresso and misplaced ambition. Maybe tomorrow will be different. Maybe tomorrow I’ll drink less coffee. Maybe tomorrow I’ll finally get my life together. Probably not. #cinematic #videographer #dayinthelife #sliceoflife #losangeles #fujifilm #fujifeed #myfujifilmlegacy

Stepping into the scenes. As is always the case when you've been somewhere long enough, I often find myself disappointed that there isn't more to shoot nearby. Overcoming this complacency is just a short forced walk away.
