Germanium Decay. Love Me Love Me @lovemeloveme_8 are the monstrous Doppelgängers of houaïda, @hybridsonicspace sound artist, music producer, singer, performer and scientist, and Alicia Agustín, @posthumaninfiltration author, performer and multidisciplinary artist. These haunted figures with crumbling perimenopausal bodies are shaped by a profound and enduring love. A love that meets this monstrous world by dissolving into its grimace rather than hardening against it. The ongoing collaboration of the Berlin based transdisciplinary duo has its roots in the queer feminist collective Talking Straight @talking_straight , which was founded in 2014. Their work has been shown at Gropius Bau, Berlin, Maxim Gorki Theatre, Berlin, Sharjah Biennial 16, Haus der Berliner festspiele, Sophiensaele, Berlin, Münchner Kammerspiele, nGbK, Berlin, nbk, Berlin, Espacio Disponible, Buenos Aires, Kampnagel, Hamburg, Galerie im Turm, Berlin, HKW, Berlin, Sziget Festival, Budapest, Theater Neumarkt, Zürichand others. 📸@mareikejohannart @90mil___

The Tower Moment Is Now! Alicia Agustín @posthumaninfiltration & houaïda @hybridsonicspace 2025 This performance places us mid free fall, our stomachs turning as we face, for just a few seconds, the shaky foundation on which we've built our identities. It examines our so called freedom and other catastrophes. An interactive musical, it tells the story of The Tower struck by lightning, because it had to be. Because it was never meant to stand in the first place. It is a ritual of release, a letting go of all that has made us feel so embarrassingly safe. It is a voicing of the unfortunate souls. A fairy tale where the mirror world exhibits its ugly grimace and we recognise our very own reflection in it. It is the performance of a hole*y spell, part wound, part magic, demanding collective mourning whilst offering glimpses of courage. If the world was ending you'd come over, right? Alicia Agustín @posthumaninfiltration will host the workshop “Writing and Performing Uncertainty” at +CHAOS+COLLAPSE+CRAFTS+ ! ABOUT ALICIA AGUSTÍN: Alicia Agustín is an interdisciplinary artist working with performance, video and text. In her practice, she enjoys exploring the human desire for admiration, certanty, genius, leaders and cults, as well as the strategies through which these structures are produced, maintained, and legitimized. WORKSHOP: This workshop approaches uncertainty as an artistic and political practice of resistance. It begins from a willingness to stay with not-knowing, fear, and doubt, not as obstacles to overcome, but as fertile conditions from which other ways of thinking and acting might arise. At a moment when complex social questions are so often answered too quickly and with false certainty—promising safety while slipping into populist or authoritarian logics—this workshop insists on slowing down. It turns toward hesitation, contradiction, and the fragile space of unanswered questions. Through writing and performance practices, habitual methods, first impulses, and familiar solutions are gently but deliberately unsettled. Participants are invited to pause, to resist immediate decisions, and to question what feels obvious or secure. Here, uncertainty is not treated as paralysis, but as movement: a practice of attention, of staying with complexity, of refusing simplification. Language: German and English +CHAOS+COLLAPSE+CRAFTS+ klasse klima x space production English/German, 2 SWS, 2 ECTS Start: 5.1.2026, 10am Place: Uferstudios, Berlin registration started 01.12.25 More infos: klasseklima.org Photo by: @kaichen_li

THE TOWER, 2025 Alicia Agustín @posthumaninfiltration (DE in den Kommentaren) On Saturday the 16th, Alicia Agustín will perform “The Tower Moment is Now” with houaïda @hybridsonicspace for the closing event of HOLE*Y MAGIC! Be sure to come by and also see Alicia’s video installation “The Tower” on view in the gallery! “The Tower” is a video essay in which Agustín lip syncs the voices of Tarot readers on TikTok and Instagram reading the meaning of the Tower Tarot card. This card is often associated with the sudden crumbling of structures. This card can foretell a breakup, getting fired, or loss of security. It has an apocalyptic quality which contrasts eerily with the sounds of bright, cheery voices of influencers trying to sell online Tarot readings in Agustín’s video. Agustín brings this symbolic tower into conversation with the physical towers of Friedrichshain: the tower in which the Galerie im Turm is located, once a symbol of DDR modernist idealism; as well as the Amazon Tower, one of the biggest buildings in Berlin which was erected despite massive protests. In the video, Agustín dances on a tightrope between the two. Although the Tower card foretells doom, it is also the card of revolution. Towers are architectural manifestations of uneven power, often hoarded or stolen. Agustín’s work can be seen as a comedic reflection of our present moment, where fascism pours out of our screens and our politicians sell us out like little kings. Or it can be seen as a call to burn it all to the ground. Alicia Agustín is a performer, author, and interdisciplinary artist. In her practice, she explores the human desire for admiration, science, the cult of genius, and the strategies for maintaining power that go with it.Co-founder of queer feminist collective Talking Straight (2014), she created "1km2 Berlin" with Guerilla Architects (2020-21). Since 2021, she focuses on site-specific works. Her 2024 exhibition "Funny Yes but not Funny Haha" transferred memes' potential into analog space.

HOLE*Y MAGIC Opening: 07.05.25, 19.00 (Deutscher Text in den Kommentaren) more info at: galerie-im-turm.net 📸: @danihasrouni Purity is a common theme in New Age magical practice. Tarot readers leave their decks overnight by a clear crystal and astrologers light white candles under the full moon to purify their energies. Sorcerers who open portals to the spirit world seal them tight with salt circles to keep ‚shadow energy’ at bay. But purity, healing, and cleansing rituals necessarily keep out the tainted, sick, or dirty: impurity becomes a threat to be warded off. This threat, which resonates well beyond the magical, is often found in passageways: open holes where contaminants can trickle in our leak out, and whose perimeters must then be diligently guarded. Controlling and patrolling holes in the name of cleanliness can be a personal task, such as our body’s orifices, or a social one, such as our border entry points. These controls can be dangerous for those categorized by dominant society as being in need of purification. Activists and theorists from marginalised social positions have long subverted purity politics by reclaiming social markers of dirtiness. ‚Dirty‘ concepts like smut, obscenity, or perversion have been embraced as signs of belonging and joy, especially in queer subcultures through actions such as kiss-ins or the celebration of trashy fashion. As contemporary culture proliferates across for-profit digital platforms, ideals of purity or authenticity become further distorted. TikTok witches, like street fortune tellers, are often associated with ripoffs and scams, perceptions which tend to fall along familiar lines of race, gender, and class. The artists in HOLE*Y MAGIC employ magic along with queer strategies of irreverence and messiness to poke holes in the holier-than-thou attitudes sometimes encountered in ‚New Age‘ and ‚western esoteric‘ magic. They challenge the Eurocentric and appropriative nature of these categories themselves, recognizing the colonial legacy of moralistic puritanism from which magic is not exempt. All the while, their artworks offer moments of deep connection to spirit and nature, to light and to shadow.

Time to say goodbye. Finito. Finissage. Dorsa Agahi, Sonja Baumeister, Lena Karolina Heykes, Lina Jung, Zuzanna Kostorz, Felix Jip Rasmus Ockel, Meike Pletsch, Jana Nerz, Änna Wegner. 📸 Frederik Preuschoft #funnyyesbutnotfunnyhaha #exhibition #installation #performance #thisisfine #lasagnaordoomlevel
