HURIYA {freedom, liberty, independence, license, deliverance, unrestraint} Ääniwalli has us back hosting yet another HURIYA — A solidarity club night where local collectives and labels come together to raise funds for Palestine. post êxistance sets the tone with heart-wrenching melancholics and ambience presenting members MORA (DJ) and Jassir Kuronen alias Euro Loss (LIVE). Collected funds will be donated to The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) to provide direct humanitarian and medical aid to reach the people in Gaza in light of the on-going genocide. The advance tickets for tonight are sold out. More tickets (PWYC) will be available for purchase at the door from 9 PM (until capacity allows), with ticket amounts of 5€, 10€ and 15€ + sec. fee 3,90€. FRI 10/10 – S.A.T. X post êxistance: Juliana Huxtable (US) A very crucial collaboration takes place at Kaiku this Friday, on the 10th day of the 10th month. The promiscuous tricksters of S.A.T. team up with the community-building collective of post êxistance to bring the American interdisciplinary visionary Juliana Huxtable back to Kaiku. Renowned artist (she just exhibited a video work combining music, performance, and poetry at the Turku Art Museum) and revered DJ, she’s played in Helsinki before and now returns for you once more. Her unmatched technique and talent as a DJ are often channeled through four CDJ’s as well as a meticulous understanding of the art of performance. Connecting Huxtable, S.A.T., and post êxistance is a desire to foreground and build up marginalized communities in the club surroundings, to hold space for the QTBIPOC communities. Spread out between Kaiku’s both rooms and joining Juliana Huxtable are Saint Nia, MORA b2b ORWALA, Juls Sanchez, the good time girl, NASHA and Stasi Dian & Internet Soulja (LIVE). The calendar matches the event exquisitely as it’ll be 10’s across the board, all night long. Limited amount of advance tickets 12 € via Eventual. Tickets from the door 16 €.
