peacock & the worm (@peacockvisualarts ) (formerly known as Peacock Visual Arts & The W or M) is a printmaking workshop and an art gallery based in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Over the past months possible.is, in close discussion with peacock, has developed a new visual identity which has been in use since December 2020.
The new identity steers away from its previous colourful and descriptive design, that hadn’t been changed since the 1990s. We stripped away any animal related logoshapes and got rid of all the colours.
What remains are just a few elements that aim to shape the appearance of peacock & the worm in the years to come: a typeface (@abcdinamo beautiful, already descriptive ABC Whyte Inktrap), one color (black), a rasterized sidestripe (as well as a use of rasterized imagery) and a careful use of print materials. All stationary has been handprinted on a letterpress printer in Berlin at @j.christodulow with polymer printing plates made by @carpe_plumbum .
A new website has been made, presenting both the workshop and the gallery in a more logical structure as well as applying the new identity to the screen.

My friend Daniel Weißbach got seriously ill and to make it possible for him to stay at home between and after treatments (with professional help) a lot of friends got together and organised a charity auction. More than 150 artworks were donated for the cause.

Today the custom made typeface „Happy Times at the IKOB“ was released under a Open Source License at @velvetyne_type_foundry .
It was designed by Lucas Le Bihan @dreamsoffice as a keystone of the visual identity of the @ikobmuseum designed by @possible.is :)
