We turned the @wearefamilydc grocery delivery to 600+ seniors into an unofficial No Kings rally, then a bunch of us took off to other NK actions... what a great day! With thanks to @positiveforcedc as well... people have the power/to redeem the work of fools!

from our friends at @dischordrecords : "In tribute to the late Steve Albini and to benefit the Letters Charity that was a huge part of his life and legacy, Fugazi are making available the formerly unreleased recordings they made with Steve in the fall of 1992. This session features all of the tracks that Fugazi would later re-record for the 1993’s “In On The Killtaker” LP. The songs, engineered and mixed by Steve at Electrical, are now exclusively available as downloads on our Bandcamp page." And, in case you are wondering -- it absolutely rips!! ❤️🔥🔥🔥

38 years ago today, on March 3, 1988, I took these photos of Fugazi playing a @positiveforcedc benefit concert at the Wilson Center in Washington DC. Fugazi played the show along with Kingface, Fidelity Jones, and False Prophets. Those early Fugazi shows were incredible and mind-expanding! I wish I would have brought my camera to all their early shows I went to, but I only brought it to two of them, one of which was this one. I shot these on my Cannon AE-1 Program camera. I don't remember what lens I was using, maybe 50mm? #fugazi #dischordrecords

Many thanks to @kyle_meyers for these great photos and to @unbooking for partnering with us on this show! "Angel Du$t "COLD 2 THE TOUCH" album release show at St. Stephen's Church in Washington, DC. 2/27/26 So blessed to have seen AD$ in Baltimore and DC back 2 back. In a recent interview with Citycast, frontman Justice Tripp mentioned the healthy competition of the two cities, calling it the "coolest 45 minute drive on Earth." We are spoiled for choice with great shows in the area and I love being able to experience both unique takes on the culture. You should definitely see this album live if you have the chance. Thanks @unbooking and @positiveforcedc for making this show happen."

A cool FB post from longtime PF member, Brad Sigal, who helped create this record (w/ a bit of The Clash added to the mix!): "The record is a Positive Force DC/Dischord compilation of DCpunk bands... it was put together around 1987-88, right at the time I moved to DC and got involved with PF. I think many of the songs, and the compilation as a whole, stand the test of time pretty well. The record was a fundraiser for organizations fighting against homelessness and for civil liberties." (Note: the recent reissue now benefits We Arw Family DC, and group serving low income inner-city seniors.) BTW, I think Scott Mogol also may had something to do with this post -- right on Scott! ❤️

Marking a bit over six years since the last time Coriky played. With Amy Farina, Ian MacKaye and Joe Lally, the band grew out of Fugazi and The Evens. They played perhaps a dozen powerful shows (none taped or videoed, at their request), recorded one great record, was poised for a US tour in March 2020, with this show as a warm up... then the pandemic hit and everything went on ice. Over the break, the band initially practiced and tried finish some new songs (unsuccessfully) and then slipped into inactivity. Joe's workload with The Messthetics increased and the moment has yet to feel right for them to come back together. Maybe someday? We'll see... as with Fugazi, hope springs eternal. Anyway, a band well worth remembering. ❤️🔥

36 years ago today: another incredible night with Fugazi headlining along with two other great bands, Fidelity Jones and Lucy Brown, in a benefit against "apartheid here and abroad" meaning not only the racist dictatorship in South Africa, but also the heartbreaking separation and inequality between white and black DC. At the time, a burgeoning "drug war" fueled by the arrival of crack cocaine was turning DC into the "murder capital of America" and the venue -- St. Augustine's School -- bordered on the 1400 block of W Street NW, one of the most active and deadly drug zones in the city. This was the poignant context for Ian's comments on stage about the exploding murder crisis while calling for America to move past a "war on drugs" to a war on poverty. Words stop feeling very useful or communicative... but the essence of what we feel right now is this: Trump wants to be America's Hitler and intends ICE to be his Gestapo. We have to resist peacefully, powerfully and persistently until they are defeated. We will not be beaten down... ❤️

Utterly shameful and disgusting... and absolutely heartbreaking. We have evil, EVIL men running our government and they must be stopped. 😡💓
