Joined a portrait class - watercolor Portrait Sketchbook by @carlosrodriguezcasado . What is difficult for me is the eyes, nose and mouth, particularly for women. So it’s virtually everything hard for me 😅

Visited a small island, Cheung Chau, with fishing boats lining along the shore. Abstracting is the hardest part to deal with the mess inside the boats and numerous boats in the middle ground.

Tried a few time to draw this rooftop landscape, first just draw the rooftop, it failed; second draw the houses individually, ok but need better composition; third, divide the picture into different sections and make sure to make it 3D, add the shadows, etc

An experimental drawing that I started direct with watercolor. It turns out the shadow and the thickness are not enough to show 3D or volume. Need to add more dark or layers to enrich the rather flat drawing

Not quite what I expected. The castle is not bad but the sky is too boring and show no depth and variety. The stone fence in the foreground fails to show the stone texture. Didn’t apply the right technique
