“Mr perfect talks about why he doesn’t believe in perfectionism” in this essay I will…
Back on February eighteenth, I shot these in New York. With the TALENTED
@jtc.jpeg They were incredible — I knew it immediately. My FIRST ever New York Shoot with my Favorite NY photographer but I didn’t post them (yet). Three months passed. Everything in my head was like, why aren’t these up? The pictures are insane (just wait on part 2) post them now. But something kept telling me to wait, the timing wasn’t right, and the caption wasn’t there. The art itself wasn’t speaking to me yet. So I listened. I sat with it. And today, May 1st, the start of summer, it finally clicked.
A conversation with a good friend about perfection and imperfection, suddenly gave way to everything aligning. This post, this moment, this message — it all made sense. So here’s the real lesson here. Patience isn’t laziness. Waiting for alignment isn’t procrastination. It’s trust. It’s allowing yourself to move at the pace that feels authentic, even when logic says rush. When out natural state of catching the next trend tells you it’s to late to post this now. That’s imperfection in its purest rawest form. Because here’s the thing — nothing in this world is perfect, and that’s exactly the point.
If we were perfect, we’d never learn, never grow, never progress. Perfection isn’t a feeling we chase, it’s a feeling we live in by allowing ourselves to be imperfect. Allow yourself to fail. Allow yourself to miss the mark. Allow yourself to build your foundation on the things you haven’t achieved yet, the things you’re still reaching for. Allow yourself to wait until YOU feel like it’s the right time. Those collection of missteps, failures, and near-misses? That’s your building blocks. It’s your experience. Your path to that state of perfection, which just comes down to living in and accepting your imperfection because that’s when you’ll truly be perfect.
What’s one mistake that actually made you better?
