Goliath Was Bigfoot is a contemporary music initiative with a wild heart and a taste for the cryptic. Founded by Andrew Stoltz @surfaceofthings and Brent Fariss @porkbonezzz , and now a full-time quartet including Jess Griggs @nightmusicbyjess and Jordan Walsh @jordanwals , this genre-bending collective dives into the surreal intersections of folk tales, ghost stories, conspiracy theories, myths, and ancient texts. Sasquatch meets Americana, sound-based abstraction, and metal-tinged minimalism.
Their Here Be Monsters 2025 performance features “The Possum’s Lament/Marilee”—a heartfelt piece that meditates on our bond with animals, wild and domestic: the joy they bring, the sorrow of their loss, the lingering questions that follow. What could we have done differently? Did we give them our best? Will we meet them again?
