They used to allow four currencies the Euro, the Dollar, the Cuban Convertible Peso CUC(1:1 w/ usd), and finally the Cuban Peso (CUP).
Now they only allow the dollar and the Cuban Peso (CUP). (roughly)
In 2018 1 USD = 24 CUP
Now 1 USD = 400+ CUP
The "official" govt exchange rate still holds at 1 USD = 120 CUP, so its better to exchange in the streets than use the govt exchange

OnThisDay 1920 The first large contingent of Black and Tans arrived in Ireland, though the very first constable arrived on 7th January. Most were WW1 veterans from England, but roughly 20% of recruits were Irish.
Limerick Comedian Mike Nono made their nickname famous by comparing them to the Scarteen hunt beagles.
The Black and Tans and Auxiliaries were members of the RIC and not a separate entity. I will die on this hill.
