I’ve been a coppersmith for almost 28 years. Personally building tanks and fenders for our West Coast Choppers copper bikes. I get a lot of people tell me “I didn’t know you built guns?” Well I in fact have building guns since 2012 when I founded @jessejamesfirearms In 2014 I did my Master Pistol smith Apprenticeship in Clinton Pennsylvania. With 2004 American Pistolsmiths Guild Pistolsmith of the Year, Jim Garthwaite. JJFU is a small operation. We build one gun at a time for customers. Fro machines all the parts, Alex does the wood work on stocks and boxes, and Ryan does the @cerakote I personally do all the gunsmith work and build and test fire all the pistols and rifles.And interact personally with all the customers. I love it. Everyone is baffled that I have the time to do it, but I also do the forging for Damascus guns and knives when the weather is cool in Texas. And I still make the copper & aluminum tanks, Fenders and stainless exhaust for all the bikes we build at @westcoastchoppers All it comes down to is working every day, and scheduling. I work about 2 months on building guns. Then I take a few weeks off and do metal fab work. It’s a little tricky for my brain to switch gears on disciplines. But I just have to forget about one and only focus on the one I’m currently doing. I make it work. The only downfall is I have almost zero time to work on my personal projects. But that’s what Saturdays are for, sometimes. jesse
