Nanny Goat Fest takes its name from the open-air Nanny Goat Market that once stood along American Street; a neighborhood gathering place destroyed during the riots of May 1844.
The festival marks the dedication of a new Pennsylvania Historical Marker commemorating the Kensington Riots of 1844 and celebrating the Irish American immigrant community that rebuilt in the aftermath.

Story Time!
En route from Corey's dancing gig with Danu in Saratoga Springs, NY to our cocktail hour performance in Northfield, NJ, our alternator on the van died at the Starbuck's drive through window at the New Baltimore service plaza on the NY State Throughway! Amazingly, we were able to get a tow truck on site within 30 mins, and were able call around and find a garage that could get the alternator replaced ASAP. All things told, we lost 3 hours, but we made it to the gig with 10 mins to get tuned up before we started!
Huge thanks to Dawson's Body Shop & Towing, Courtney and crew at the Valenti, NY Mavis, and Tim, who compensated for our late arrival by not only altering his plans to arrive sooner, but he also volunteered to setup his own gear, so that we could plug-and-play.
We are certainly not the first band to have encountered such adventures on the road, but it certainly does keep it exciting!
