It was an incredible honor, when yesterday Dave Pomeroy of @afm_union stopped by to present Acme with the Fair Trade Nashville award! Over 300 local musicians voted, taking pay, safety, overall treatment, and respect for artists into consideration.
Supporting local musicians and making sure they’re paid a living wage is one of our core values. After all, we wouldn’t be “Music City” without our world-class musicians.

It was a beautiful send off for Denis Solee at Ray Stevens’ CabaRay on Sunday. Great performances and several wonderful videos of Denis, including his final public performance. He was a great musician and mentor to countless young musicians, including myself Thanks to everyone who helped put the memorial together. RIP Denis, and thanks for all the years of great music and good vibes. This picture is Denis getting his 50 year AFM member pin.
Fun night at the Bluebird with Janis Oliver and Kristine Arnold aka Sweethearts of the Rodeo, w Danny Parks on guitar. Regina sat in and she and Isang our song Workd Peace Jenny Gill opened and sounded great. Wonderful crowd and good vibes all around.

I’m in Minneapolis for AFM meetings, coincidentally on Prince’s birthday. I was taking pictures of a mural of written music and heard Prince playing loudly from a van in the lot. I gave a thumbs up to the van owner and we started talking. Kefle is a Minneapolis native and gives Prince tours to tourists. He pulled out a guitar bag and told me a story of how he found this in a used guitar store and it took him 6 months to pay it off and take it home. He said here, put it on and give me your phone and I’ll take some pictures for you. And he did.
Well it was quite thr bday yesterday. I flew to DC to be part of a panel for the World Intellectual Propert Day event on Capitol Hill. I spoke on behalf of the AFM and all musicians, rietsingers, writers, artists, and creators about the need for protection of our work. I sang my song “Respect the Band” to a very receptive audience as part of my remarks. I had some great conversations with a variety of Congressional folks and said my goodbyes
So… I hopped on a plane to fly home and was going to be here by 10 pm Nope the plane had technical problems and American ended the flight in Richmond VA No solution offered that would grt me home by afternoon at bedt so I rented a car and drove all night to get home for s full day of stuff 560 miles in 11 hours. Pullled in at 10 am for a full
