Book & Zine Tour wrap! There was so much more I wanted to include in this post, but it’s difficult to fit in the whole book & zine tour, let alone all of the launches and fairs that happened outside of the tour. Thank you to all who have read, purchased or borrowed Ruminations. Even if you just came to a launch to listen and support as well, I appreciate it so much. Thank you to @cahyati.press . Still thinking back to those initial workshops with kat (@necronomiyaki ) and avi (@__syarafina__ ) every sunday for 15 weeks. Those workshops brought ruminations into being and helped me find my written spirit. My poems have been further than I ever thought possible. Wherever my words have been read, I hope I’ve inspired people to write themselves into the world. To be vulnerable. To see vulnerability as strength, not weakness. Continue believing in yourself and your purpose will find you somewhere along the way. Once it’s found you, let your purpose be your guiding light. Let it be your conviction. Di sela kunjungannya ke Jakarta, Bona Obiri-Yeboah bersama Cahyati Press menyempatkan diri pulang ke Kedai patjarmerah. Malam itu, ia berkumpul bersama para patjarboekoe untuk mengobrolkan 'Ruminations', kumpulan puisinya. Bona bercerita bahwa ia menulis dalam bahasa Inggris, Ghanaian Pidgin, dan Twi, lengkap dengan berbagai slang yang akrab digunakan. Baginya, pilihan bahasa itu adalah cara paling jujur untuk mengekspresikan diri. Meskipun ia adalah sosok yang bertutur lembut, ada banyak hal yang ingin diungkapkan dalam puisinya. Dengan memadukan beragam bahasa dan gaya tutur, ia merasa lebih leluasa menyampaikan emosi dan referensi tanpa harus menyebutkannya secara langsung. Terima kasih, Bona dan Cahyati Press. Perasaan janggal ketika lebih akrab dengan hiruk pikuk kota daripada keluarga sendiri, rasa kagum yang tak biasa terhadap irama alam, atau lamunan tentang pertemuan canggung dan romansa yang tak tergapai. Semua itu Bona Obiri-Yeboah tuliskan dalam karyanya yang berbicara bagaimana kita menjalin hubungan dengan orang lain.
