The Evolution of Polo Shak 🎤🏆
Polo Shak’s story began in Queens, NY, making beats at home and forming his first rap group, Gemstarrz, by age 11. By the time most were still finding their voice, he had already touched stages across New York City.
Between 2014 and 2020, Polo performed over 400 shows, met countless celebrities, and built his name without a co-sign — just grind, consistency, and undeniable presence.
In 2020, he went viral with “Que Tú Sabe,” marking a turning point in his career. His record Love and Basketball later trended across TikTok, catching the ears of a new generation.
As his buzz grew, so did his catalog, releasing standout projects like: Untitled (2018) Who is Polo Shak (W.I.P.S) (2019) Repeat (2022) and Summer on Locc (2024)
Known for his bold style and raw lyrics, his Ksubi & Red Bottoms mic performance became a standout moment, merging fashion and rap with pure energy.
He’s been featured in over 10 magazines, awarded the iLL Thinker Award, and won Heatseeker Album of the Year, solidifying himself as a force with both voice and vision.
From music to film, Polo made his screen debut in Guns & Grams and is now starring in the upcoming sequel, stepping into leading-man territory.
Now, in 2025, he’s entering a new dimension with the release of Best Of Polo Shak: Jazz Edition; an evolved sound with the same soul.
From beats in Queens to award stages and film sets
This is Polo Shak. And the story’s still being written.

Two New York rappers who represent two very different sides of the city.
Polo Shak came out of Queens with energy, style, and a million followers watching.
Fivio Foreign came out of Brooklyn and put the whole drill movement on his back.
Both of them built their names in the same city but on very different streets.
Queens has always bred artists with a certain swagger and Polo Shak carries that fully.
Brooklyn drill took over the world and Fivio was the face of all of it.
Polo Shak performed at Barclays Center and showed the city he was built for stages.
Fivio jumped on Kanye records and showed the world he belonged at the very top.
Two artists grinding in the city with the same hunger and different sounds.
New York has always had room for more than one king at a time.
Both of them are proof that the city never runs out of real talent.
