COIN COLLECTOR - THE BACKSTORY 👀 🪙 - This song was born during the ACT lockdown, when @this.way.orkestra vocalist @sharrockjim began interviewing local primary school kids for a livestream project. Each week, he turned their stories into original songs, performed live from a studio at @belcoarts .
One standout was Josh, a young neighbour obsessed with coin collecting and naval history. When asked what kind of song he wanted, Josh requested a rap about coins. Jim delivered, debuting Coin Collector on his @lucky.jim.and.friends show.
Jim later recorded the track for the album Lucky Jim and His Imaginary Friends and after further collaboration with bassist Simon Milman, Coin Collector evolved into a crowd favourite at This Way Orkestra gigs!
